Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be the end of the current Skywalker Saga but we're still learning about Kylo Ren in Marvel's Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren. We're only two issues in but the series has done a good job of showing us Kylo Ren's origin and how he eventually turns to the Dark Side. With a non-linear structure, it's been a fun read and Charles Soule really shows how much of a Star Wars fan he is.
Unfortunately, in keeping the spirit of how Star Wars builds up its cool supporting characters only to make them disappointing, The Knights of Ren continue to be a joke in this series. If you hated how they basically jobbed to Ben Solo in The Rise of Skywalker and had hopes that Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #2 would redeem them, you've got another thing coming.
I mean, yeah, there are three issues left for this series but the comic literally shows pages of Luke throwing these guys around like they're nothing. Granted, the scene is designed to show off how much of a badass Luke is but it comes at the cost of these characters, who continue to be more useless than Team Rocket.
We're sure that LucasFilm will release some sort of comic book or novel that will make the Knights of Ren cool somehow but the damage has been done. Much like Captain Phasma, Boba Fett, and General Grievous, The Knights of Ren will go down in history as one of the biggest jokes in Star Wars history.
Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #2 is now available in comic book stores and digital outlets. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might still be showing in cinemas.
