Star Wars Rebels Series Finale Seemingly Confirms Popular Rex Fan Theory

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Star Wars Rebels' series finale

It looks like the series finale of Star Wars Rebels may have confirmed a popular fan theory circling around the clone trooper Commander Rex.

After the Star Wars animated series sees to the liberation of Lothal, Rebels' series finale goes on to offer an epilogue explaining what the surviving members of the Ghost team do next after the series comes to an end. Sabine explains in a voice-over that "Hera fought in the battle of Endor" and then goes on to add "as did Commander Rex."

Rex came to prominence as a featured clone trooper in the Star Wars animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and became one of the few to avoid involvement in Order 66 after removing his inhibitor chip. One of the Star Wars franchise's most popular theories is that Rex was present at the Battle of Endor, with many linking the old clone trooper to Nik Sant an old soldier who fought along with Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Luke (Mark Hamill) on the Battle of Endor.

Though the theory largely remained as speculation, this little voice over by Sabine seems to confirm that Rex was on Endor with Hera, Leia, Luke and the rest of the Resistance. The only question now is whether he was really Nik Sant or whether he was working somewhere else on the planet during the Battle of Endor.
