Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Rumored for a Reboot

Reboots of games are not uncommon, especially in bigger franchises. And there are several reasons as to why the developer would opt for a reboot instead of an extension or another installation.

If the rumored project of a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic pushes through, then Star Wars will be joining the league of games with upcoming reboots. The new rumor comes from SW Game Outpost, where gathered evidence thanks to gaming journalist Liam Robertson may be pointing to BioWare hard at work on the new project.

Interestingly, it appears that this particular arm of EA is expected to exclusively work on the Star Wars games, with no deadline of when it will last. The term used was a "remake/revival," so it's safe to say that it won't just be an expansion of what fans have played until now.

Furthermore, the project seems to have been on the drawing board for quite some time. Even more interesting is that the project has been in production for so long, that it has even undergone some changes, which allowed the creators to layout possible original routes and direction fort the reboot.

"I think this is sort of like wiping the slate clean. I think this is going to embrace the new Star Wars universe lore because Knights of the Old Republic was sort of just pushed into the expanded universe, the Legends canon of Star Wars."

If that's not enough, there's even a possible hint (care of StarWarsNewsNet) that points to Drew Karpyshyn, who has been touted as the senior writer of Knights of the Old Republic, as seen in the tweet below:

Hopefully, we'll get to hear more about this reboot, if it's confirmed to be true. June's just a few weeks away, so an E3 2017 reveal or even sneak peek would go a long way for fans.
