Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) II: The Sith Lords is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 8, as announced at the Star Wars Celebration 2022 event. Originally released in December 2004 for the Xbox, the sequel to the classic KOTOR RPG is expected to feature several performance enhancements and resolution upgrades, as well as a Restored Content DLC set to come post-launch.

An announcement video was shared for KOTOR II's Nintendo Switch release:

The Restored Content DLC will include the content that Aspyr Media and Obsidian Entertainment, the RPG's developers, left out during their rush to release the game in 2004. Steam already has a fanmade mod for KOTOR II that restores some of this lost content, but it's unclear how similar the official DLC will be when it launches.

For those unfamiliar with the sequel, KOTOR II begins five years after the events of the first KOTOR and follows the story of The Exile, a Jedi Knight who was exiled from the Jedi Order. During this time, the Jedi Order has been almost entirely wiped out by the Sith. The RPG begins with the protagonist waking up from unconsciousness on an asteroid facility. After the player escapes with the assistance of their party members, they find the person who exiled them ten years ago, who sends the protagonist on a mission tofind the remaining Jedi to fight against the Sith.
