While some Star Wars fanboys might not be comfortable with the idea that some of the others in the Star Wars community actually ships Finn and Poe Dameron together, it seems like sequel trilogy star John Boyega is pretty open to fans fantasizing his character having a relationship with the Resistance pilot.
In an interview with Variety at Disney's D23 last week, Boyega reacted to fans posting some fan art depicting Finn and Poe in some steamy situations.
"I've seen some pictures of me and my boy, you know Oscar Isaacs, butt naked in showers and stuff. Now we don't do that, but you know I am open and free to anyone having their expression of art."
The stormtrooper-turned-Resistance-fighter star's response is certainly going to cause trouble with traditional Star Wars fans, but it's also going to light up the day of other fans who think that Poe and Finn should go together. Lucasfilm hasn't confirmed the relationship between the two on the big screen just yet and though there's no certainty whether a romance between the two will ensue in The Last Jedi, everyone's free to ship whoever they want, especially in art and fan fiction.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15, 2017.
