Star Wars: John Boyega And Lupita Nyong'o Discuss What They Learned Working With Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford had come back to Star Wars after 30 years in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and a lot of fans bet that he's happy that they finally killed off Han Solo. Though it seems that Ford won't be coming back for the sequel, his co-stars John Boyega and Lupita Nyong'o have come out to say what they learned working with Ford on TFA.

Talking to Star Wars Insider, Boyega says:

"As he works on set, he has a great understanding of the artistic side of shooting a movie as well as the technical side of shooting a film… If anyone asks me what I have learned from working with Harrison Ford on Star Wars, I've learned that whatever film I go on to after this, shooting a film or a movie as an actor is a balance of the technical and the artistic. As an artist, you're portraying a role, being an actor, and performing."

But the camera is the eye of the audience, so you have to also facilitate that. You have to facilitate the lighting, the positions, and the visual effects. Harrison knows how to do all of that with great balance, but also have fun and make it a comfortable set."

A lot of fans know that Harrison Ford has a lot of animosity with Star Wars, but nevertheless, they still love him as scruffy nerfherder Han Solo. Another one of Ford's co-stars, Lupita Nyong'o (Maz Kanata), also opens up about working with him:

"Working with Harrison has been precious. He knows this stuff… He's worked on this scale of film many times before. He has shorthand with J.J. [Abrams] and the crew. To see him have such control and yet be so playful… That's been so fascinating."

On such a big set, with so many moving pieces, it's easy to get overwhelmed and not know what's going on. But, Harrison always seems to know what's going on and zeroes in on that."

Though Ford won't be making a return in The Last Jedi, the adventure will continue on for Finn with Maz getting a reduced role. Fans are sad to see Ford go, but at least we now get to see what happened to the franchise's original lead Luke Skywalker 30 years since Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set for a release on Dec. 15.
