Star Wars: Find Out More About The Origin Of General Hux

Domhnall Gleeson’s General Hux (first name Armitage) was probably one of the more prominent characters in The Force Awakens, proving himself to be the Grand Moff Tarkin of a new generation. Thanks to the Aftermath: Empire’s End novel, more information has been revealed about Hux’s origins and how he climbed the ranks of the First Order.

Star Wars Explained on Youtube goes into detail about Hux’s journey as the bastard son of an Imperial officer and a kitchen helper who rose up the ranks and continued his father’s role for the Empire. Armitage’s father Brendol Hux believed that Clone Troopers were more effective soldiers than Stormtroopers when it came to discipline, but they were more prone to biological attacks. His solution was to kidnap children and indoctrinate them early on so they will have the obedience of a Clone, but the durability of a Stormtrooper.

After the fall of the Empire, Brendol Hux fled with his son to the unknown regions of space, eventually starting what would become the first order. To Armitage Hux, the Empire was the hero that saved the galaxy from the chaos of the Clone Wars.

I’m liking all this new information on Hux, and I’d really like to see where his character goes in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I really like how he can be at odds with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and I want to see just how ruthless he can be during a battle.

General Hux will return in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which hits theaters Dec. 15.
