Star Wars: Episode VIII shooting in Ireland is over.

Director Rian Johnson made the announcement via Twitter, while also acknowledging his love for the European country.

While last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens filmed in Skellig Michael, the eighth episode in the saga filmed its scenes in various locations in the country including Malin Head, Ceann Sibéal, as well as Skellig Michael.

While filming in the country, characters from the movie have also taken the time off to spread some Force-inspired love to fans in need. Last week, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill visited a cancer-stricken fan from Northern Ireland, conversed with him and his family, and made him extremely happy. This week, an actor dressed as the Wookiee character Chewbacca also dropped by a school in Ceann Sibéal to surprise students.

During the course of the shoot in various places in Ireland, Johnson and the rest of the cast and crew of Episode VIII updated fans about the development in the movie's filming through interviews and social media. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, recently shared in an interview that characters in Episode VIII will be "tested intensely."

Then again, it can't be helped if the press and excited fans can't help capturing photos from the set as they pass by. Last week, a drone footage of the Millennium Falcon was revealed, and last week, Daisy Ridley was captured by a fan on Malin Head wearing her Rey costume.

There have also been rumors of several stars and characters who could appear in the movie, such as Master Yoda, Gary Barlow, and Tom Hardy. There's even speculations of the film's working title and an epic fight scene that could take place.

Personally, I don't mind seeing these set photos, rumors and minor spoilers, as long as someone doesn't leak a major spoiler that could ruin the movie experience for me. I guess we'll never know whether these rumors are true or not until Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
