Star Wars Episode VIII Possibly Starting With Reshoots

Director Rian Johnson had previously teased that Star Wars Episode VIII should already be in post-production.

But from the looks of it, there are now some hints that point to the possibility that some reshoots may be taking place, or at least are in the works.

Star Wars fan site Star Wars News Net has caught wind of Carrie Fisher's abrupt visit to the New York Comic Con in lieu of a Star Wars project. The report was corroborated by the official New York Comic Con Instagram, which held the sudden announcement that Fisher will only be at the event on Sunday.

This is just the latest in the string of findings linked to Star Wars Episode VIII reshoots. Previously, Lupita Nyong'o still needed to shoot her mo-cap scenes, while Daisy Ridley's (who plays Rey) body-double Chloe Bruce had also been heard mentioning filming again in Croatia, a location linked to the movie's production.

There's still a long way to go before the movie becomes finalized, so we do expect some reshoots even with the post-production already in tow. For now, I guess any bit of information will do—such as a hint on what the story will be like.

Star Wars Episode VIII is slated for theaters on December 2017.
