Star Wars Disney Park Attraction is Like a Living Videogame

Wouldn't it be great to bring the Star Wars universe to life? Every fan would say a resounding yes, especially to a project as big as the one that Disney Parks and Lucasfilm are collaborating to create for the Star Wars-themed Lands.

Disney Parks has revealed in a new video the plans that have been brewing between the two companies, and the people who have worked on the set of Star Wars movies, as well as those in Disney weighed in on what their initial thoughts are for the project.

The goal was to have the partnership tap into the individuals who have been creating the worlds of Star Wars onscreen. For them, this would create the immersive world that will fulfill the dream of even the most hardcore of fans.

One of the other areas that they are focusing on is the narrative—and it's not one that you'll just get to see as played out in previous movies. Rather, the story will be one that fans will be there to create for themselves. For the creators, this will mean injecting familiar elements but allowing for new experiences to flourish, so that those who participate in the attractions can actually contribute to the narrative.

More details of this immersive aspect were revealed during the Star Wars Celebration (via Entertainment Weekly). According to Scott Trowbridge of the Imagineering team, this will happen in the context of the newer aspects of the saga where the threat of Darth Vader is more of a haunting memory than a palpable one.

"We wanted to build new Star Wars stories, new destinations, but this time you can be in them. We want you to discover your own Star Wars story, not just remember somebody else's."

There's a lot more to look forward to this Star Wars-themed land in Disney Parks, but one thing's for sure, we'll be looking forward for more before it opens two years from now.
