Star Wars Battlefront Sequel is Coming, To Feature Content From New Films

Electronic Arts has confirmed the sequel to 2015's Star Wars Battlefront will be released next year, developed by Visceral and Motive. Its release "most likely the following year," putting a tentative 2018 release window on the untitled game.

According to EA, the sequel to Star Wars Battlefront will have "bigger and better worlds." The larger worlds are credited to having "the new movies to work off of," rather than the "historical movies" in the current Star Wars Battlefront game.

"They're very excited about that." EA believes that Respawn could "add a huge amount" to a new Star Wars videogame.

In 2018, a Star Wars action game "part of the Motive is working on" along with the Visceral Team is scheduled, EA says, but it expects to release at least one Star Wars game per year "over the next 3 to 4 years."
