Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Multiplayer Classes & Mechanics Explained

Trickles of new information for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 are finally becoming available as the development team start talking a little about what we can see in the game. While we finally know that the campaign will be following Iden's journey in the 30 years that she's with the Imperial, the developers didn't miss a beat about sharing what they can about the multiplayer

Even if the single-player narrative was one of the things that a lot of players were looking forward to, multiplayer will have the classes that will give more depth to the gameplay. Matt Webster mentioned to Eurogamer the four Trooper classes for players to explore.

"One of the things that they give us is that ability to facilitate team play, which is such an important part of DICE multiplayer. So we think, when you've got the Heroes, when you become one of these iconic heroes, it's such a game changer it's a real power trip and that's really exciting and it's a huge differentiator I think for Battlefront."

The creators also took note of the gameplay flow that will occur for Trooper players playing together, which can assist heroes and set up some great moments in the game.

For those who have played Star Wars Battlefront, you may also want to know that blue pickups have been abandoned for this iteration, if only so it wouldn't be a spawn/grinding mechanic.

Webster and the team are still saving the specific details for customization and progression for the classes, which could deepen the kind of gameplay and level up that players can build on.

It looks like EA and DICE are looking to go deeper rather than just expansive, both in narrative and multiplayer mechanics for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. This has always been a good tendency of game sequels, so hopefully, we'll see a big improvement from the original.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be out on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Nov. 17.
