Narek was one of the prominent characters in the first season of Star Trek: Picard. The Romulan Zhat Vash agent was the key to opening the mystery behind Soji Asher and the next-gen synthetics. He was last seen in the finale fighting the Synths to blow up their beacon, but just seemingly vanished when he was pinned down to the ground.

Picard showrunner Michael Chabon was asked during a Q&A session on Instagram about what exactly happened to Narek. He mentioned that the character never got his resolution and is even admitting to the error. "Yeah. Narek. We know, we know," he wrote. "A casualty of the editorial process, alas. The intention was for him to be taken into Federation custody."

Narek underwent some big changes throughout the show. While it started out as a mission to get close to Soji to prove his worth to the Zhat Vash, Narek accomplished this but developed feelings in the progress. He eventually found a middle ground by avoiding a mass genocide while also not staying loyal to the Zhat Vash.

Harry Treadaway's character was loved by fans of the show, though there's no word if he'd return in season two, fans would certainly want him to return.

Star Trek: Picard Season 1 is now streaming for free on CBS All Access for a limited time only.
