Star Trek 4 Said to be Looking for a Woman to Play the Main Villain

It looks like Star Trek 4 has finally gotten some steam, and news has it that the movie is currently looking to cast its main villain. Rumor has it that they're looking for a woman to play the antagonist this time around.

According to That Hashtag Show, Star Trek 4 is looking to add two new women to the cast. One of them will be the main villain, while the other is said to be a hero-type, much like Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond.

There was news that came out recently that The Walking Dead and Black Panther's Danai Gurira was in talks for a role, and it's likely that she will be cast as one of the good guys. The age range for the female antagonist is said to be 45–60 years-old.

I actually quite liked Star Trek Beyond, and thought that Simon Pegg wrote a script that was much more faithful to the original series. The main problem with the movie's underperformance was basically the poor marketing, in which someone decided to market a Trek movie with a Beastie Boys song; add to that the doubts of some fans of having a Fast and Furious director on the helm.

Hopefully this Trek film moves forward soon. The new cast is just fantastic, and I'd love to see where the story goes in the future.

Star Trek 4 has not been officially announced.
