Stan Lee Health Issues Force Cancellation of Con Appearance

Stan Lee was expected to show up at this weekend's Big Apple Comic Con but he has dropped out due to "health issues," the New York City convention said.

"Stan keeps to an amazing schedule and it seems to have taken its toll. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience but the show must go on."

The convention is not offering refunds on admission tickets, but it will offer refunds for any advance Stan Lee photo-ops, swag bag pre-orders, and autographs.

In 2016, Lee, 94, had similar health issues that led to the cancellation of what was billed as his "final" Comic-Con International: San Diego appearance. He continued to appear in cons, billing some of them as his "final" appearances at those events, including New York Comic-Con 2016.

I remember seeing Lee in Silicon Valley Comic-Con last year, and he still looked fit and healthy for his age, but that doesn't mean that he needs to dedicate his remaining years travelling around to meet fans. Lee is getting older, and I think deserves to spend his private time with his family and get enough rest he deserves.

I hope the legendary comic book icon would recover soon.
