Square Enix Reveals Final Fantasy VII Figures Based on Original Game's Character Models

Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake is a beautiful-looking game and looks fun as hell, with a combat system that should have us mashing buttons for hours on end. However, while this remake and its sequels are going to be incredibly beautiful, older fans will always have a soft spot for the original polygonal character models that appeared in the OG Final Fantasy VII.

However, in the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2019, it was discovered that Square Enix will soon be introducing figurines that are based on the original character models from the first game. They are, for lack of a better word, nostalgic and will get a lot of us buying them. Seriously, look at how goofy Cloud and Tifa look; I love them!

Unfortunately, there is no release date for these official Final Fantasy VII figures from Square Enix but we should get one soon, especially with the remake coming out next year. This might also get fans to check out the remastered version of classic Final Fantasy VII, which is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, along with some mobile devices. It's also worth noting that the original game is also available on PS3 and PS Vita.

To be honest, I'm probably going to get the original game and beat it before Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out. I've never beaten the original, though I know some of the story beats (Aerith dies) so I'm looking forward to playing this classic in the near future. These figures just made me even more excited.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PS4 on March 3, 2020.
