Square Enix Has No Plans on Releasing Final Fantasy VII Remake for Other Platforms

Currently, Final Fantasy VII Remake is scheduled for a PS4 release on March 3, 2020, and it's one of the most anticipated video games coming out next year. However, thanks to a mistake from Xbox One Germany, fans started thinking that the game might be coming to Microsoft's console. Even after some clarification from Xbox One Germany, Square Enix had to put their foot down and tell us that the game won't be released outside PS4 anytime soon.

Square Enix clarified this statement to IGN, stating that the remake isn't planned for other gaming platforms right now. This is a pretty obvious statement since the game has only been shown on PlayStation events and Square Enix's E3 press conference. However, this doesn't mean that the game will be exclusive to the PS4 forever.

Aside from previous statements that essentially confirmed the game coming to PS5, the very first trailer for the game said it would be coming "first" to PlayStation 4. This means that the game could eventually come to Xbox One and PC since Square Enix has been porting their games to these systems, including older Final Fantasy titles.

Microsoft even managed to get Kingdom Hearts III for the Xbox One, which makes no sense since the HD collections were never released for the console.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PS4 on March 3, 2020.
