After literal years of waiting, Square Enix has finally revealed the release date of the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Fans will be able to play this remake on March 3, 2020, which is both faster than expected and really far away, so that's something to talk about. No details on the game's multiple parts have been revealed yet, though Square Enix will probably talk about it during their E3 conference.

We got a brief new gameplay clip that showed more of the early action, only showing Cloud and Barrett's initial attack on SHINRA. In fact, the previous trailer actually showed gameplay past the first part, revealing Aerith will be fighting alongside you after Cloud is separated from his friends in AVALANCHE. However, Aerith does appear here, asking Cloud for help before a mysterious enemy appears out of nowhere.

More gameplay is always great and it showed off some more Barrett, which is always a good thing. Fans do find the character a bit problematic since he is clearly a black stereotype that is inspired by Mr. T but that doesn't mean he sucks; his arc throughout the game is actually pretty great. We also get more of the game's enemies, showing that Square Enix will be keeping some of the sillier elements of the original classic.

Now give us cross-dressing Cloud!

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the PS4 on March 3, 2020. Five years later and we finally know when it's coming out. Who else is hyped?
