Spongebob Twitter Trolls Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Over Character's Redesign

Sonic the Hedgehog is coming out later this week and everyone seems to be pretty happy with how the movie is turning out. However, the shadow of the movie's original character design still looms over it as many haven't forgotten what Paramount Pictures wanted to make our boy look like. It seems like the Twitter account of Spongebob Squarepants hasn't forgotten that issue either since they trolled that movie and fans kind of love it.

On Twitter, the Spongebob Squarepants account shared two different pictures of the title character and compared it to how Sonic the Hedgehog changed their designs. It's pretty accurate and fans are loving this burn since we will never forget what they did to our boy. Hopefully, future studios making video game movies take note and don't make the same mistake.

Considering how Spongebob Squarepants has had two movies already, with a third one looking just as good as those two, the franchise does have enough clout to make fun of Sonic. That being said, there are also a number of fans who feel that Spongebob has been a shell of his former self since season 3 or 4. Some have also said the character lost steam post-movie but that's the complaints people have said.

Hopefully, Sonic the Hedgehog ends up being pretty good and we get another great video game film. The movie comes out later this week, on February 14.
