Spidey’s Homemade Costume Detailed In New Spider-Man: Homecoming Image

Ever since Marvel revealed that Robert Downey Jr.'s wisecracking Armored Avenger would be training Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming some fans have been expecting a few suit upgrades for Spidey. Given Tony Stark's propensity for tech, it's more than likely that Spider-Man's going to get an upgraded suit with new gadgets.

While an image of the updated suit made its way online earlier this month, word also spread that Stark would eventually have to take the suit back and force Peter into using his homemade Spidey outfit. Now, a photo of the practical home-made costume has also made its way online in a new promo art piece from Marvel Collector Corps.

Check it out here:

While the design of the home-made outfit seems to stray far away from the classic Spidey-suit design, it does seem to take inspiration from the design of Spider-Man's clone, Ben Reilly, a character that's been making intermittent appearances in the comics since 1975.

While the mask does slightly remind us of a kookier version of Ryan Reynold's Deadpool, the whole get up does seem to fit a teen-ager's taste – which totally makes sense when you remember that Holland's comic-accurate version of Spidey is basically a teenager.

The synopsis of the film reads:

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine -- distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

Spider-Man: Homecoming comes swinging in theaters on Jul 7, 2017.
