Though Falcon star Anthony Mackie told fans that they shouldn't be expecting any crossovers between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the different Marvel Netflix series anytime soon, fans are still hoping that Marvel studios would change its mind and allow a few Marvel Netflix stars to pop up on the big screen sometime soon.
Now, in an interview with ScreenRant, Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Eric Carroll talks about the likelihood of crossovers in the MCU. Though Carroll does express enthusiasm over the possibility of a Daredevil or Luke Cage star making a cameo in Homecoming, the producer's response echoes Mackie's take on crossovers.
When asked whether Tom Holland's Spider-Man knows anything about Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Carroll answers:
"Not specifically referenced in this movie, no. I think that's something we all think would be really fun and it's definitely a card I would love to see played, if not sooner rather than later. But as of now, it's not referenced in this movie."
Though Caroll does bluntly say that there won't be any crossovers in Homecoming, his answer is much more positive compared to his other cohorts in Marvel. With so many fans hoping for crossovers, it's possible that Marvel Studios would add a few cameos in the MCU in the distant future.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is slated for release on July 7, 2017.
