Spider-Man: Homecoming Will Reportedly Feature The Vulture

Last night, Sony confirmed the title for the next Spidey film to be Spiderm-Man: Homecoming, which will be the first standalone superhero film starring Tom Holland. The studio didn't reveal any plot details, but a media outlet may have just revealed one of the villains that will appear in the movie.

According to a source who spoke with Birth.Movies.Death, the Vulture will show up as the villain in Homecoming. Previous rumors said that the Vulture won't be the main villain, but the site isn't sure about the validity of the point. There's no word on who would play the Vulture. John Malkovich was considered for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 before the project died.

The Vulture is Adrian Toomes, an engineer who makes electromagnetic harness that lets the wearer fly like a bird. But when his business partner steals his share of the company, he's driven insane and creates the Vulture identity to enact his revenge.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
