Sophie Turner Says New X-Men Film Will Begin Filming Soon

Production for the seventh season of Game of Thrones just wrapped up, and now, Sophie Turner is ready to reprise her role as Jean Grey in an upcoming X-Men film.

The 20-year-old actress best known for playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones was on the red carpet at the 70th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday night, where she revealed her plays for this year. Speaking to Hey U Guys, she said:

"We're about to start shooting the next X-Men. We've just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I've got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to Season 8."

Her comments seem to confirm that a new X-Men film is underway. Fox hasn't offiically announced the sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse, but it was reported that the new film has the working titles X-Men: Supernova and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which suggest that the film will be based on the Dark Phoenix saga.

Not much has been revealed about the new film, but it was confirmed that the film will be set in the 1990s and that Kinberg is writing.

X-Men: Supernova is set to start production in Montreal this May.
