Sonic the Hedgehog Gets New Posters Following the Trailer Drop

Sonic the Hedgehog was originally supposed to come out this month, but after the poisonous reaction to the first trailer, Paramount was forced to delay the film into next year. What's great is, it looks like things are moving according to schedule, and we finally have some new promo material complete with the redesigned Sonic.

I have to say, this new Sonic looks a hundred times better than what we originally got—and a majority of the fans agree. Not only is the cartoon look more aesthetically pleasing, but it certainly fits with the kiddy theme that the film is going for. Imagining the same trailer but with the old Sonic design kind of just feels weird in my part.

I also don't think a lot of people have noticed, but the new trailer actually embraces how "fun" Sonic is supposed to be in the film. It's a way better approach than the first teaser which had Gangster's Paradise playing over it of all songs.

With the redesigned Sonic a hit, it's ultimately up to how the movie pulls everything off. I have to say, they made Jim Carrey a hundred times more fun in the trailer, and I can't wait to see him embracing his kooky antics onscreen again. I mean, I love his serious work like the show Kidding, but maybe it's time for a new generation of kids to know what Carrey was actually famous for.

Catch Sonic the Hedgehog when it hits theaters Feb. 14, 2020.
