Sonic the Hedgehog Gets a Surprisingly Awesome Japanese Poster

Sonic the Hedgehog is coming out later this week and fans still don't know how to feel about the movie. Yeah, they changed the character design but the plot still looks like a basic kid's movie, which has a lot of people worried that it won't be any good. As we wait for some reviews to come so we can set our expectations, a Japanese poster for the movie has come out and it looks amazing.

As fans can see below, the poster has a much angrier Sonic posing in the center as Doctor Robotnik lingers in the background. While people do like the American poster where Sonic runs in the center, this one actually has much better colors and composition. International posters always have a couple of differences in them and this one takes the cake.

While this poster doesn't answer the question about Sonic the Hedgehog being a good movie, it does give us some hope that it will be colorful and nice to look at. Granted, that's always the case with most kid's movies but that's not a problem at all. Here is hoping that the movie blows us away or, at the very least, is a fun time. The actors are ready for a sequel so maybe it's better than expected.

Based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega, Sonic the Hedgehog tells the story of the world's speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog will hit theaters on February 14.
