Sonic The Hedgehog Co-Creator Reacts To Fans Forcing Movie Redesign

People have been waiting for the Sonic the Hedgehog film for quite some time so it's no surprise that the reactions to the first trailer have been overwhelming. Unfortunately, it wasn't overwhelming in a good way. Fans were so disappointed with Sonic's new look and they are making sure Paramount Pictures knows about it.

Luckily, director Jeff Fowler is paying attention to everything that people are saying about Sonic. Fowler took to Twitter to announce that they will be redesigning Sonic according to the fans' demands.

"Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be..." Fowler wrote, adding the hashtags #sonicmovie and #gottafixfast.

His tweet was accepted by grateful fans and even Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Yuji Naka is pleased with Fowler's message. Take a look at Naka's grateful message to fans below.

"The power of sonic fans is amazing. It is good to go in a good direction. Thank you so much for loving Sonic," Naka wrote.

It's great to know that major changes will be happening before the Sonic movie is released. However, it might also be a huge risk for Paramount considering that a complete redesign will cost more money. Nevertheless, we're hoping it all works out before the film's release later this year.

The movie's synopsis reads as follows:

"SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic."

Sonic The Hedgehog is scheduled for release on November 8.
