Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Scribe Is Now Writing Indiana Jones 5

Harrison Ford's Han Solo might have kicked the bucket in Star Wars: The Force Awakens but Indiana Jones isn't dead yet, and now it looks like the fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise is being written by Solo: A Star Wars Story's scribe, Jonathan Kasdan.

According to a report by Collider, Jon Kasdan, the son of the legendary Star Wars screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, is taking over David Koepp's role as the writer of Indiana Jones 5. Unfortunately, it seems like there isn't that much information on why Koepp decided to leave the project and more importantly when Koepp left Indiana Jones 5. This leaves us guessing on whether or not the script needs just some refinement, or whether Kasdan will be writing a script from scratch.

The news comes as quite a surprise to many following the development of the film. Koepp has been onboard to write the script since 2016 after writing the previous Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Not only has Koepp worked with Steven Spielberg in quite a number of films, he's also considered the sixth most successful screenwriter of all time.

However, while Kasdan is much younger, he's also had some great experience in writing for Hollywood. Not only did he recently co-write the script for Solo: A Star Wars Story, he also wrote the script for In the Land of Women and the cult classic series, Freaks and Geeks.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently Indiana Jones 5 doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
