Solo: A Star Wars Story Makes Sure There’s No Doubt Han Shoots First

Whether Han shot first or whether Greedo did has always been one of the biggest debates in the Star Wars franchise with multiple answers. In the original 1977 version of A New Hope, we see Han pulling the trigger first. In George Lucas' special edition, Greedo's the trigger-happy lowlife, not everyone's favourite smuggler.

Though we're definitely not going to get to the scene in Solo: A Star Wars Story, screenwriters Lawrence and Jon Kasdan talk about a scene in the highly anticipated Star Wars spinoff that tries to touch on the whole "who shot first" debacle.

Speaking in an interview with Uproxx, the father and son writing duo admit that they deliberately tried to take Han back to his initial portrayal as a cold-hearted smuggler.

"Yeah, it was very important to me, like top of the list," Lawrence told the publication.

"To both of us. We are firmly in the camp. In the script, the description literally says, "There can be no doubt Han shot first," his son, Jon, adds.

Given the Kasdan's comments, it seems like we're either going to get a similar scene in Solo or we're going to see more of Han's skulduggery in the upcoming spinoff – scenes that won't make us doubt that Han's incapable of shooting Greedo first in A New Hope.

We can't wait to see it all when Solo premieres later this week, May 25.
