Solo A Star Wars Story: Dryden Vos is introduced in New Clip

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out later this month, and Lucasfilm has been releasing clips that highlight the characters that will be taking center stage in the film. A new clip introduces Paul Bettany's Dryden Vos, and gives us a hint to his relationship with Qi'Ra.

It has been stated that Dryden will be the third party in a love triangle that involves Han and Qi'Ra, and it was only because of Qi'Ra's suggestion that Han got the job. Dryden also takes jabs at Han's homeworld of Corellia, which we now know is considered a ‘sewer' to people off-planet. I wonder if it's still a thing to say that the best pilots in the galaxy come from Corellia.

Paul Bettany was actually brought in late in the game by Ron Howard to star as Dryden Vos. Originally, the role belonged to Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire, The Wire), but he was unavailable for reshoots, forcing the production to replace him with Bettany.

Personally, I think Howard should have cast someone more threatening for the role as compared to Bettany. But I guess with the rushed production, Howard had to look for someone he could trust to take on the role. Hopefully Lucasfilm casts Williams again in the future.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25.
