Singer Sues Disney, Claiming 'Let It Go' Ripped Off His Song

An international singer thinks Disney ripped off his songs to feature in a hit animated blockbuster, and now he's taking action.

TMZ reports that Jaime Ciero is suing everyone involved in the creation of Frozen's Let It Go, claiming the popular song ripped off his 2008 song, Volar. According to TMZ, the lawsuit isn't just targeting The Walt Disney Company; it's also going after Demi Lovato, who recorded the radio single, and Idina Menzel, who performed the song in the film.

In the lawsuit, Ciero points out that his he recorded Volar years before Frozen, calling his song "a huge international success reaching millions of listeners and landing on numerous charts of the most popular, top-performing songs." The artist is suing Disney and the artists involved in profits from Frozen, which of course, turned out to be a massive success thanks to its box office sales, merchandise, and album sales.

If you listen to the song, you'd notice similar notes in the chorus but they're clearly different. What do you think? Do you think he deserves to win the lawsuit?
