Simon Pegg Says He's Done with Star Wars, Comments on Tarantino's Star Trek

Simon Pegg is one of the few stars who has appeared in both Star Wars and Star Trek, though he was only a minor character in the former. Even without those films, Pegg has made himself known for starring in Edgar Wright's Cornetto trilogy and the Mission Impossible movies.

With that being said, it was interesting to hear what he had to say about his future with those franchises and why he is done with Star Wars.

During an interview with Moviefone about his upcoming movie Terminal with Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie, the multi-talented actor was asked about his Star Trek future and if he will star in Quentin Tarantino's movie. According to Pegg, he knows as much about the project as us, so not much.

The actor said that most of the cast don't know about Tarantino's Star Trek since Paramount does not want the actors being barraged with questions about it, especially since they don't know if they're in it.

"No, well -- we don't know anything about it. Because they know that we'll get asked about it all the time and they protect us from ourselves. I know as much as you do. I just know that Quentin came in with an idea and I'm excited to see what fruit that bears. I know there was some kind of consternation from the fans. But he's a devoted "Star Trek" fan and an incredibly gifted filmmaker, so I can't think of anything more exciting than him having a crack at it."

In regards to Star Wars, he said that his business with the franchise has finished but not in the way fans might think. Pegg isn't angry or bitter, he just feels that he has already achieved his dream of appearing in a Star Wars film. However, he did say that if J.J. Abrams needed him for something he would do it since they are friends.

"After being in "The Force Awakens," it was like getting to literally be in "Star Wars." I was in the desert of Abu Dhabi in the workshop. It was like being in a 3D environment. And I guess, getting to glimpse behind the curtain, it stopped being something that I was watching from afar -- like I did as a kid -- and more something that I was involved in. I had an odd sense of ennui afterwards, like I had fulfilled my destiny. And then afterwards, I haven't felt particularly compelled to have anything else to do with it. It's a weird feeling. It's no disrespect. I just felt like I'd done what I always wanted to do when I was a kid, which is be in a "Star Wars" film. And now, I don't give a shit anymore."

No release date for Star Trek 4 or Tarantino's Star Trek has been released. Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
