Former Transformers Star Shia LaBeouf was once approached to play a role in Suicide Squad, Variety reports. According to LaBeouf, shortly after he finished filming Fury in 2014, director David Ayer showed asked him how he would feel about Suicide Squad.

He said he was was going to play Rick Flagg's right-hand man, GQ. The character was pretty minor in the movie, but according to LaBeouf it was originally more substantial.Tom Hardy was also originally going to play Rick Flag. ""Then Will [Smith] came in, and the script changed a bit. That character and Tom [Hardy's] character [later played by Joel Kinnaman] got written down to build Will up".

But while Ayer was interested in having LaBeouf in the movie, Warner Bros evidently was not. "I don't think Warner Bros. wanted me. I went in to meet, and they were like, ‘Nah, you're crazy. You're a good actor, but not this one.' It was a big investment for them," LaBeouf said.

The role of GQ went to Scott Eastwood and that was that.

LaBeouf is a controversial actor, but an actual cannibal might have fit in with a ragtag bunch of criminals! (I'm referencing a meme, not actually accusing LaBeouf of eating people, don't roast me). LaBeouf might not have approved of Jared Leto's antics though. He previously did some pretty hardcore method acting, but has decided that he's over that thanks to recent things he've seen. "The word is getting embarrassing," he says. "You don't hear about female method actors. The whole thing has turned into weird, false masculinity sh-t."

What do you think of the news? Would you be down for a LaBeof'd up Suicide Squad?
