Pikachu will star in a new Pokemon detective game next month called Famous Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Partnership. In a new trailer of the game, world-renowned Detective Pikachu is determined.
While kind of adorably ridiculous, the Pokemon game trailer is reminiscent of BBC's Sherlock.
According to Engadget, plans for the Pokemon game happened years ago. The soft reveal even took place three years prior to the trailer. One would think that by now, the game would have already materialized. However, the initial 2015 release never happened and the game was forgotten.
The Japan-only title, which was announced recently by Nintendo, is a cinematic adventure game starring a "smug," "wise-cracking" Pikachu and a boy named Tim. The duo would team up in order to solve a mystery, according to Engadget.
It costs 1,500 yen, which is approximately $12.50. Orders prior to its February 3 release will get 20 percent discount.
While you may want to try and play Famous Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Partnership for yourself, it’s only available for download as a Nintendo 3DS title. There’s also no word yet of the game having an English-language version.
Thankfully, we have the Pokemon game’s English version to accompany us as we wait for English title.
