She-Ra Gets New Character Design and Fans Hate It For Some Reason

We got our first look at the art style of She-Ra and The Princesses of Power and it looks good. She-Ra's character design might be simpler and a bit anime-inspired but she still looks strong and honorable. However, just Thundercats Roar before it, there has been a lot of negative reactions to this new look for He-Man's twin sister.

First revealed in a magazine scan (thanks ComicBookMovie), it has since spread across the internet to some very divisive opinions. It's a bit odd seeing all the hate since her redesign in nowhere near as drastic as the Thundercats. Plus, it's not like her original cartoon had stellar animation. Same goes for the He-Man show.

Apparently, some of the complaints come from the character being more muscular than her previous design. This is an odd thing to complain about since she is a princess of POWER and should be able to punch as hard as her brother. It's sad really since the show has plenty of potential when it hits Netflix later this year.

Hopefully, things get better when the animated series hits the streaming service later this year. Looking at character designs is one thing but watching a show in motion and seeing how a story develops is another thing entirely.

What do you think of She-Ra and The Princesses of Power thus far?
