Shazam! Director David Sandberg Shares Man Of Steel Double Easter Egg

Yesterday, DC fans got their first look at Asher Angel as Billy Batson in the DC Extended Universe's highly anticipated Shazam! standalone superhero movie. A cute photo that features Billy spending time together with his friend Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer), the image also shows off a host of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel Easter Eggs in the movie.

Now, taking to Twitter, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has decided to give fans a closer look at one of the Man of Steel references in the picture – a Time magazine cover showing General Zod's (Michael Shannon) ship, the Black Zero.

Check out the photo down here:

Surprisingly enough, fans have managed to discover an Easter Egg within the Easter Egg. Though the Time cover ought to have been enough, the date on the fictional copy of the magazine shows June 14, 2013.

That's the exact same date as the premiere of Warner Brother's Man of Steel. Think about it, a double Easter Egg. That's a pretty great surprise for fans.

Of course, fans have long been gushing about the newly-released Shazam! photo of Freddy and Billy littered with DCEU Easter Eggs. Some have even went as far as to say the film's managed to bring more honor to Batman V Superman and Man of Steel in a single photo than Justice League.

We definitely can't wait for Shazam! to make its premiere.

Shazam! makes its way to cinemas on April 5, 2019.
