Shatterstar Confirmed for Deadpool 2

Though Deadpool originally introduced to us a handful of mutants, it looks like Deadpool 2 will be introducing way more characters from the comics. Some people have been guessing that it was comic character Shatterstar that they saw in the new trailer, and it's been confirmed that it actually is him.

Colossus actor Stefan Kapičic talked to Inverse, and said:

"That's not CGI of Terry Crews, that is Terry Crews. You can see it clearly. You can see behind him, Shatterstar, a really cool thing for people to geek out."

With Deadpool already wearing a comic-accurate version of his suit, it's actually cool that they're able to bring Shatterstar's faceplate in the movie without it looking too out of place. We have yet to confirm who the character behind Domino is, but rumor has it that he's Bill Skarsgard (from IT), and he's playing a mutant called Chamber.

Besides Shatterstar being confirmed, there's still mystery surrounding on who Crews (and possibly Skarsgard) are playing. Some guess that Crews is actually comics' G.W. Bridge, a tough-as-nails human agent who has connections with the X-Force, Cable, and S.H.I.E.L.D. We'll just have to wait for all this to be confirmed since this is just speculation.

All-in-all, Deadpool 2 looks great. With a solid director and solid cast, I have no doubt that it can compete with Infinity War and Solo this coming May. That R-rating will be a blow to the film's profits though, but I can't imagine a PG-13 Deadpool movie succeeding either.

Deadpool 2 comes out May 18.
