Some major blockbusters are hitting theaters this March with Logan, Kong: Skull Island, and Power Rangers. The end of the month marks the arrival of the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, and new IMAX poster has been released featuring the Major (Scarlett Johansson) taking down a thug in the water.
Though the movie has been getting some criticism from whitewashing the characters, I still think that it looks pretty solid. After all, Hollywood is a business, and you can't blame them (well, you can) for hiring a more bankable actress in the lead role. Besides the inclusion of Johansson, I'm also a fan of Japanese director/actor Beat Takeshi and Michael Pitt from Boardwalk Empire. I sincerely hope the movie delivers.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, "GHOST IN THE SHELL" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic¹s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders and it hits theaters March 31.
