Marvel's biggest superhero event is coming next year, and we already know that it will feature a huge cast of Marvel characters as hinted in the first Avengers: Infinity War set photo. I'm still wondering how they're going to pack so many characters in one feature film but it turns out that the number of characters is more than what many expected.
During her appearance in the late night show with Stephen Colbert, Scarlet Johansson revealed that the number of Marvel characters that will be in Infinity War would be around 61 or 62. When asked if it's just in one scene, the actress revealed that there is about 32 in one specific scene. That's insanely high for just one scene, and I'm excited to see it unfold on the big screen. Of course, she might be exagerrating or just joking. "There's so many of us that I don't even know who's a Marvel character or a crew member," she told Colbert. It would be awesome to see 32 superheroes in one scene though. We'll just have to wait and see. You can watch the full interview below:
The confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bethany, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, Bradley Cooper, and Pom Klementieff.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to release in theaters on May 4, 2018.
