This year, 2019, has pretty much been the year of Samuel L. Jackson, what with him appearing in Captain Marvel, Glass, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. What's next for Mr. Jackson though, is that he's going to be providing the first celebrity voice for Amazon's digital assistant Alexa.

According to Variety, Jackson will be one of many celebrities providing their voice for Alexa. The Jackson "voice pack" is said to be available later this year for 99 cents, and the best part is—it comes with both a clean and explicit version.

I wouldn't be surprised if "Samlexa" ends up asking me to repeat orders to it if the explicit filter is on; heck, I'd be insulted if it didn't.

What's interesting is that Alexa uses new Neural Text-to –Speech technology, allowing it to sound more human and less robotic. That means, when we hear Jackson's voice coming out of it, it will be completely synthesized, and not a recording of specific words and phrases.

We don't know which other celebrity is coming to the platform, but I think Jackson is an absolute perfect choice. I'm sure the Marvel fans would love a Paul Bettany voice (seeing as Bettany voiced JARVIS before he was Vision in the MCU); maybe Scarlett Johansson would also be cool for anyone who saw Her. I'd love a Seth Rogen voice that would laugh at any joke I would tell it.

The Samuel L. Jackson voice pack will be available for Alexa sometime later this year.
