Samuel L. Jackson Hasn't Signed Up For Captain Marvel Yet; Is Someone Else Playing Young Nick Fury?

Marvel Studios is finally pushing forward with their Captain Marvel movie, and it has been confirmed that a young Nick Fury will be making an appearance. With the film being set in the 1990s, however, it looks like Fury will have to be more on the young side, and Samuel L. Jackson says that he has no idea about his role in the movie as of the moment.

Jackson told Yahoo! Movies UK:

"I haven't signed a contract, haven't seen a script. I talked to Brie [Larson] the other day and she didn't say anything, she's the only person I know that's actually in the movie. I've been rumored to be in several different Marvel movies that I haven't shown up in."

With Fury being on the younger side in the timeline, I'm wondering if Marvel Studios is planning on casting a younger actor to play him. They have used CGI to enhance the youth of actors before like Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Douglas, but if Fury is going to be a main player in the film (which he very well could be), it might prove tricky to have a young CGI Fury onscreen for a long while.

Personally, I'm just hoping Fury comes with Jackson's signature afro from Pulp Fiction. Captain America: The Winter Soldier already had a Pulp Fiction reference with Fury's tombstone, but it would be an absolute delight to see 1990s Samuel L. Jackson appear in a Marvel movie.

Captain Marvel is set to come out March 8, 2019.
