When Capcom announcedStreet Fighter V: Arcade Edition, fans were willing to give the game another chance. The Arcade Mode ended up being much more in-depth than usual, with plenty of unique endings and mini-games to explore. Capcom has decided to entice fans even more with the third character pass, which will be adding a number of fan-favorite characters, and two new fighters.
Blanka, Cody, Sagat, and Sakura are finally returning to the game with the third character pass. Sakura will be the first character available, releasing on January 16, 2018, the same time as the Arcade Edition of Street Fighter V. Newcomers coming to the game are Falke and G, both of whom could be interesting characters that players might be curious about.
Sakura got a gameplay showcase trailer and she looks like a really fun character to use. Aside from her cute E-sports-themed attire, she also has a few sick combos. The high schooler's V-Trigger seemingly lets her cancel out special attacks to form a number of chain moves. No gameplay trailer for the other characters since Sakura is the first one that's going to be released.
Capcom also released the opening cinematic to the new update. It is phenomenal, showing off some of the new characters and the previous ones. Words do it no justice.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be available on January 16, 2018. Fans that bought the original version of the game will get the Arcade Edition as a free update, though they won't get the first two character passes.
