Ryan Reynolds Would Like to Play Wally West for the DCEU

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds had already tried his hand at the DC Universe with Green Lantern, but he's revealed that he's actually open to playing a part in the DCEU. Who does he want to play? Wally West.

Talking during the Deadpool panel at SDCC 2018 (via ComicBookMovie), Reynolds was asked which other comic book characters he would like to play. He says:

"Honestly, I wanted to be the Flash, the Wally West version, but I think all of those ships have sailed."

Growing up with the Justice League cartoon, Wally West was actually the first Flash that I was exposed to, and I think that Reynolds would actually be able to do a great job with the role. There were even fan castings way before Green Lantern that listed Reynolds as a favorite to play the Flash.

For now, the DCEU has found a great speedster with Ezra Miller's Barry Allen. Sure he may not have his movie yet, but Miller was a breath of fresh air for the ensemble in Justice League. Hopefully directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have found the perfect story for Barry.

No release date has been announced for The Flash, but people are expecting a release in 2020.
