Ryan Reynolds is a Video Game NPC in First Poster for Free Guy

It may be a while before we get Ryan Reynolds back as Deadpool onscreen, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been keeping himself busy. Reynolds is attached as the lead to Shawn Levy's next film Free Guy, and we just got our first poster.

Here's the interesting premise for the film:

A bank teller discovers that he's actually an NPC inside a brutal, open world video game.

Besides Reynolds, the movie also stars the likes of Taika Waititi, Channing Tatum, Lil Rel Howery, and Jodie Comer. Levy was even able to bring in Stranger Things star Joe Keery.

While we' don't have a good look at the movie yet, I'm expecting it to be full of adventure and kind of family-friendly. Besides working on Stranger Things, Levy has worked on flicks like the Night at the Museum franchise as well as reboots for The Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen. The credits of screenwriter Matt Leiberman also include Netflix's The Christmas Chronicles, The Addams Family, and the upcoming Scoob! reboot.

I'm sure that Reynolds will be key to this film's success, as he's proven himself time and again to be one hilarious lead. Add to that the likes of Waititi and Keery, and you're set for an interesting movie. Heck, Tatum doesn't get enough chops for his comedy skills.

We don't know when the first teaser for Free Guy will come out, but hopefully, something drops before the year ends.

Free Guy is set to come out July 3, 2020.
