Rumor: Suicide Squad 2 Will Introduce The Rock’s Black Adam

Though we know that DC is working on pumping out a Shazam! movie, Captain Marvel's nemesis, Black Adam, won't be any part of it. The role is said to be played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and rumor has it that he'll be showing up in another DC film before clashing with his rival.

According to The Wrap's sources, it's possible that Black Adam will be introduced in the Suicide Squad sequel. The current plan for the movie is said to have the team track down some sort of super weapon, and that weapon is said to be Black Adam himself.

The Rock had previously told Fandango:

"We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can't reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced."

With that in mind, an appearance in Suicide Squad 2 lines up perfectly to Johnson's comments. Everyone was expecting him to be in the Shazam! film, but with those hopes turned down, the only other option people were thinking about was a Black Adam solo movie.

Hopefully this time around, Suicide Squad manages to do something interesting with their villain. Superhero movies have come a long way, and people were already tired of the formula that was used for Enchantress in the first movie. An introduction of Black Adam would shake things up nicely.

No official release date has been set for Suicide Squad 2, but with production starting late 2018, we should expect a release later the next year.
