With Star Wars: The Last Jedi easily becoming the most polarizing installment in the franchise, a number of fans are hoping Solo: A Star Wars Story will make them feel better. Things have been looking up for the spinoff, with director Ron Howard replacing the duo of Chris Miller and Phil Lord. However, that might not be the case, as a supposed Disney representative claims the company is expecting Solo to bomb.
According to Screen Geek, a representative close to the film's production has claimed that the people in Disney are bracing themselves for a bomb. This representative says lead actor Alden Ehrenreich "can't act" and the script is "unworkable" If true, this essentially confirms the fears fan felt when reports on the film's troubled production reared its ugly head.
Here is the full statement:
Disney is bracing themselves for the Han Solo movie to bomb. They were worried about it before all The Last Jedi controversy, but now they're essentially writing Solo off. The lead actor, Alden Ehrenreich, can't act, and they had a dialogue coach on hand forallof his scenes. On top of that, the script isunworkable. It's going to be a car crash.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
