Rugrats Cartoon Gets A Nickledeon Reboot And A Live-Action Movie

Hollywood's been full of reboots lately, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise to hear that Nickelodeon is bringing back another well-loved animated television series from the 90's – the Rugrats.

According to The Wrap, Nickelodeon is bringing back the everyone's favorite bunch of babbies together for a 26-episode stint and for a live-action movie from the Paramount Players. Though the show doesn't have a premiere date just yet, it seems like the Rugrats series production has already begun with original creators Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain all together as executive producers of the new show.

The Rugrats live-action movie, on the other hand, is already set for November 13, 2020 release. Written by screen writer David Goodman, the movie has been described as a "live-action film featuring CGI characters."

The characters in both the series and the movie will feature the stars of the original Rugrats cartoon – baby Tommy Pickles, baby Chuckie Finster, the twins Phil DeVille and Lil DeVille, and Angelica Pickles. The show reboot and the film will also introduce new characters, though the reveal hasn't been really made yet.

Rugrats joins other popular shows from the 90s like Blue's Clues, Rockers Modern Life and Invader Zim in returning to Nickelodeon.
