Ruffallo Teases A Sentient Hulk In Thor: Ragnarok

For the first two Avengers films, the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) had always been kind of a risk for the team, since both movies had them going against Bruce Banner's big green alter-ego at some point. Hulk will be appearing again in Thor: Ragnarok, and Ruffalo teases that he won't just be a lumbering super-powered Frankenstein monster this time around.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ruffalo says, "He's much more of a character than the green rage machine you've seen in the Avengers movies… He's got a swagger. He's like a god."

It's very interesting since Bruce Banner only seems to have control over the Hulk whenever it's convenient for the plot. Even in the comics, the Hulk switches from a mindless monster to a sentient powerhouse at random times. My best guess is that he's able to let out all the rage in the coliseum that Banner is able to take control even in Hulk form. Either way, I hope the movie comes up with a reason that makes sense.

Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by Taika Waititi and will star Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, and Idris Elba. The movie is set to hit theaters Nov. 3.
