The script for Fantastic Beasts was written by J.K. Rowling and takes place in 1930s New York City, approximately 70 years before the events of Harry Potter. It will follow the main character, Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who adventures through the secret world of wizardry in the city.

For the original Harry Potter series, Rowling had stipulated that Warner Brothers must hire almost exclusively British actors. With the diverse all-star cast for Fantastic Beasts, it appears this no longer is a requirement. Ron Perlman, a Native New Yorker, is a fantastic actor and we are excited that he has been added to the film. Are you pleased with the casting decisions so far for the movie?
