Ron Howard Says Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Like Raiders Of The Lost Arc

There might have been a bit of doubt over Alden Ehrenreich's ability to become Lucasfilm's young Han Solo, but there's been nothing but praise over the Hail Caesar! star's acting abilities in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The cast and crew of the film have given nothing but good words for Ehrenreich and just recently The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson took to social media to praise the actor's performance.

However, while Johnson's said that Ehrenreich is doing anything but impersonating Harrison Ford's style in his performance, Solo director Ron Howard couldn't help but compare the film to Ford's old Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Arc.

Howard just recently spoke with news outlets at a press conference for Solo last Saturday (via CBR) and during the meeting, the director opened up about how excited he was for the film.

"I was very excited about the [Han Solo]'s relationships. This is different than the other movies – it's one guy's adventure story," the director explained.

According to the director, the film's "single characters' journey" reminded him of Raiders of the Lost Ark a film which Solo co-writer Lawrence Kasdan also wrote.

"What surprised me was how complicated and exciting and fun it was to stage the big action scenes, which is something I hadn't done in a long, long time," Howard added.

It looks like fans are in for an adventure this year. It's definitely going to be exciting seeing Solo premiere on May 25.
