Rogue One to Get a Comic Book Adaptation From Marvel

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story proved to be a success in cinemas. Even without the usual suspects of the popular characters, the movie managed to create a great impression too both old and new fans of the franchise.

As with any major franchise, Rogue One is now also set to get the comic book treatment via Marvel. Set for a six-issue run with Jody Houser and Emilio Laiso as writer and illustrator respectively, the Rogue One comic will explore the world further in a different medium.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Houser revealed that they will be expanding the universe, starting with the deleted scenes that didn't make the cut.

"The comics will definitely expand on what was seen in both Rogue One the film and the novelization. Lucasfilm and Gareth Edwards had a bunch of ideas for extra scenes and character moments that didn't make it into the film. Adaptations across different forms of media have always been a great opportunity to explore other facets of the story, and we're excited to have new material in the Rogue One comic."

Based on the realistic grounding of Rogue One sans Jedi, it appears that the comic will also look deeper into this. Houser revealed that part of what they are looking forward to is to explore what the Force is to those who do not exercise it as freely as the Jedi or the Sith.

Rogue One the comic will released sometime in April.
